Remember our Glazed Donut Shave Oil? Maybe you even have a bottle of it sitting in your skincare fridge or beauty cabinet. Either way, it was a hugely popular product that's still selling out faster than we can restock it even now.
Exciting news! We just released our second ever shave serum. And yes, it's just as awesome as our Glazed Donut After Shave Body Oil.
Super Fierce Pre-Shave Serum
This Power Shine Pre-Shave Serum is a shaving essential! Formulated with a nourishing blend of watermelon, strawberry, allantoin, squalene, and marula oil, this shaving serum helps hydrate, soften hair follicles, boost radiance, and secure a super smooth razor glide. Best of all, you can use it either pre-shave or post-shave. It works well both ways!
Watermelon: Rich in vitamin C, amino acids and lycopene. It's a powerful source of nourishment and shine for sun-damaged, or antioxidant-deprived skin.
Strawberries: Packed with vitamin C, topical application of strawberries protects against UV damage while fading stubborn dark spots and hyperpigmentation.
Marula Oil: Lightweight and flash-absorbing, marula oil is known for its moisturizing, elasticity-enhancing, glow-boosting abilities. It also boasts healing properties to diminish the effects of nicks, rashes, and razor burns while locking in hydration for hours of dewiness.
Squalene: Squalene is a naturally occurring oil in the epidermis, and perfect for all skin types. Since it mimics the skin's natural oils, the epidermis produces less oil, and prevents excess oil production. This means it can help control oily skin while preventing breakouts. Squalene also improves skin texture and reduces fine lines.
It's our latest limited edition product, and a go-to in-shower buddy for smooth shaving. You'll love it! Plus -- like all our products -- it's vegan, cruelty-free, and squeaky clean (no parabens present in our products!).
You might be wondering, why do I even need a shaving serum in the first place? Good question! And here are some answers...
Shave serums typically contain hydrating ingredients like plant and nut based oils, as well as humectants like glycerin and hyaluronic acid. While shaving itself does not cause dry skin, the products you use can. From your body wash to your facial cleanser to your shaving cream or gel, these products may be drying out your skin without you even knowing it.
While our Glazed Donut Shave Oil utilizes ingredients like coconut oil, passion fruit, grape, and vitamin E, our newest version uses a blend of squalene, allantoin, and watermelon for optimum hydration levels.
Prevents Ingrown Hairs and Razor Bumps
While your technique matters most when it comes to swerving shaving-related skin concerns like ingrowns, bumps, and burns, you can prevent these from happening by starting the process with a pre-shave serum.
Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, our Super Fierce Shave Serum both treats and prevents razor bumps, burns, and irritated skin. So you can enjoy that smooth n’ silky feeling after shaving.
Softens Hair Follicles
Hair removal is so much easier when hair is softer. The razor blades glide through them like a breeze. Whether you're shaving your face, underarms, or bikini line, be sure to slather on some shaving serum to soften your hair follicles before getting started.
Secures a Smooth Razor Glide
When you start the process with a pre-shave serum, you're setting yourself up for a successful shave. While you might be used to the typical shaving essentials like shave gels, razors, and body lotions, Truly has stepped up the shaving game. Now, we're bringing in skincare products to upgrade your shaving routine and make things so much smoother!
Beginning with a shave serum is a quick and easy way to prep the skin and hair for a perfect shave.
Can Be Used For an On the Go Shave Experience
Simply apply a small amount of this serum to soften hairs and prep skin for a smooth and irritation-free shave. You can apply it before showering and exfoliating. It'll make the process so much easier -- and prevent issues like razor burn, bumps, and ingrowns.
Here's how to get the most out of our pre-shave serum.
#1: Cleanse and Exfoliate
Before doing anything, you want to start with a clean base. If you're shaving your face, use a gentle cleanser followed by a face scrub or chemical exfoliant (glycolic acid, lactic acid) to buff away dead skin cells. If you're shaving your body, cleanse with a hydrating body wash and use a gentle body scrub to remove dead skin cells and product buildup so you're starting with a fresh base.
#2: Apply Super Fierce Pre-Shave Gel
Apply a generous amount of serum to the desired areas. Leave it to soak into your skin for 1-2 minutes. Make sure all areas you plan to shave are fully covered with the serum for ultimate hydration and protection.
#3: Slather Your Skin in Shaving Cream
All smooth shaves require a generous layer of shaving cream or gel. Apply our No Troubles Bubbles Shave Cream to desired areas after lathering it up with warm water, and reapply as needed.
#4: Glide Your Shaver Over Unwanted Hair Growth
Using our Powerpuff Girls Super Shaver Razor, glide it over your skin in the direction of hair to secure a smooth and irritation-free shave. For an ultra smooth shave, repeat the process again.
#5: Layer on After-Shave Butter
To finish the shaving process, moisturize and treat your freshly shaved skin with a dollop of What’s Up, Buttercup? After-Shave Butter. It's made with a hydrating blend of shea butter, coconut oil, avocado, kiwi, niacinamide, allantoin, and hyaluronic acid, which will ward off body acne, dryness, and skin irritation for good.
#6: Finish with SPF
If you're shaving your face or areas that will be exposed to the sun, apply broad-spectrum sunscreen at the end of your routine. Skin is extra sensitive when it's freshly shaved, so be sure to protect it!
We hope you love our shave serum just as much as we do! You can even use it post-waxing to alleviate redness and irritation.
If you have super sensitive skin or a skin condition like eczema, visit your dermatologist for prescribed medication or topical treatments. You'll also want to consult a dermatology professional to get the all-clear on the skincare ingredients featured in our shaving products.
