Sydney Sweeney's Skincare Routine
You might know her as Cassie from HBO's Euphoria. We know her as the chic with great skin. And the world knows her as Sydney Sweeney.
So, what is the secret to the 24-year-old's gleaming complexion? The White Lotus actress has been very vocal over the years when it comes to her issues with cystic acne and sensitive skin. And, much to our satisfaction, she's finally dropped her full skincare routine. That means, we get to hear all the secrets behind Sweeney's sensational skin! Yay!
Keep scrolling to learn about a few of Sydney Sweeney's beauty secrets as well as the products she swears by.
She Mixes Cleanser + Exfoliator
Sweeney has always been transparent about her struggle with having acne-prone skin, which is why she's dedicated a lot of time figuring out which formulas work best for her skin. And as the Euphoria actress discovered, skincare isn't a one-size-fits-all topic. Hence, the reason for her unique approach to exfoliating.
"In the morning, I use both an exfoliator and gel cleanser," says Sweeney. "I used to only use one or the other, but I found that mixing the two is actually key for my skin type. I don't even know if I'm doing it correctly, but it works for me."
Her top picks? Eau Thermale Avene Cleanance Cleansing Gel and Caudalie Deep Cleansing Exfoliator, but we also like Truly's Super Matcha Facial Cleanser + Face Scrub. Try mixing the two to buff away dead skin cells, decongest the pores, and keep breakouts at bay.
She Swears By This Serum
Any good beauty routine should include serum.
"When I’m out of the shower, I use the SkinCeuticles H.A. Intensifier because my skin does get dry, so it helps soak everything in. I use it every day and night," says the actress.
SkinCeuticles H.A. Intensifier is a serum formulated with hyaluronic acid to inject moisture into the skin for long-lasting hydration. It is a little on the expensive side, however, so consider Truly's Flower Child Face Cream if you're looking for a more wallet-friendly version of this Sydney Sweeney approved serum.
Flower Child Cream is made with hyaluronic acid and hemp to soothe, hydrate, and nourish skin. It is also designed to visibly restore the skin's elasticity – by lifting, tightening, and firming the look of sagging skin.
She's Obsessed with Eye Masks
One step Sydney Sweeney never misses in her skincare routine is caring for the skin under her eyes.
"I always, every single morning, use eye gel masks," she says. "Right now, I'm obsessed with the Peter Thomas Roth ones — either the gold ones or the blue ones. But every morning, no matter what I'm doing, I put those on."
We also like Truly's Eye Candy Anti-Puff Eye Cream which is made with a hydrating blend of hyaluronic acid and sea kelp to fade dark circles, reduce the appearance of puffiness, and revive tired eyes. It feels great on your skin!
She Loves this Drugstore Moisturizer
Sydney Sweeney is serious about moisturizing. That's why she does it twice a day -- once in the morning before applying makeup, and once in the evening before hitting the sheets.
One lotion she loves is Nivea Face Cream. She also adores French skincare products like Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré face cream. Our personal favorite is Truly's Cream Skin Face Cream which contains hyaluronic acid and sea kelp to hydrate, plump, and rejuvenate skin.
If you've got combination skin or acne-prone skin like Sweeney, try applying cream to the dry areas of your face and leave the oily parts untouched. This will help diminish dry skin while avoiding the onset of breakouts. Plus, it makes for the perfect base for concealer and foundation.
She's Only Just Started Wearing Sunscreen
Like most people, Sweeney used to skip wearing sunscreen because most of them made her acne worse. But SPF is essential for keeping skin firm, healthy, and youthful, and every skin type needs it. You simply need to find the right formula! That, Sweeney did, which is why she wears sunscreen every day now.
"I use the EltaMD sunscreen on top. This sounds horrible, but I never used to wear sunscreen because my skin is so sensitive, and sunscreens would usually break me out. I started using this over the past year and a half, and my face doesn’t break out, so it’s been my saving grace."
Skin Icing is Her No 1 Beauty Hack
Alongside eye patches, exfoliators, moisturizers, and sunscreen, The Voyeurs actress swears by skin icing to keep her complexion flawless.
"I have this ice roller that I got off of Amazon, that is the size of my face," says Sweeney. "Every day literally while I’m in my car heading to set, I’m just rolling my entire face with this ice roller. It helps immensely."
In case you didn't know, skin icing is a technique that involves rolling actual ice or cold facial tools across the face to reduce inflammation and puffiness. The treatment really took off last year thanks to TikTok.
She Loves Lip Balm
No skincare routine would really be complete without a decent, moisturizing lip balm. Sweeney's favorite is Burt's Bees, but we also like Truly's Unicorn Fruit Lip Plumping Balm which contains a nourishing blend of shea butter, matcha, rosewater, aloe, and peppermint to soothe, hydrate, and plump your pout. Plus, it smells like freshly iced cupcakes!
Sure, Sydney Sweeney shares some awesome skincare tips and recommendations here, but you must remember that no skin is the same. If you are experiencing acne or other skin concerns and nothing is working for you, consult a dermatologist for professional help.
You don't need access to the world's best derms and makeup artists to get great skin. You also don't need to live by Vogue's top skincare product recommendations, either.
As any good derm will tell you, you simply need to find the products and routine that works best for you.
